Wilmington Police Arrest Man on Burglary, Theft Charges

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 61-year-old Brian Giles on burglary and theft charges.

Authorities stated that on January 17 at approximately 5:05 p.m., police officers received a report of an alleged package theft that took place in the 1700 block of Beech Street. At approximately 11:41 p.m., officers located a subject matching the description of the suspect in that package theft, who was identified as Brian Giles. Giles was taken into custody without incident.

Through further investigative measures, Giles was identified as a suspect in connection with an alleged burglary that took place on December 15 in the 300 block of South Dupont Street.

Giles has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Burglary (Second Degree)
  • Theft Under $1,500 – Two Counts
  • Criminal Trespass (Third Degree)

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $12,300 cash-only bail.
