Wilmington Police Arrest Man After Finding Loaded Handgun

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 20-year-old Devin Pearson on gun charges.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 21, at approximately 3:38 p.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 1600 block of West 2nd Street, when they observed 20-year-old Devin Pearson acting in a suspicious manner. Police made contact with Pearson, and following a brief investigation recovered a loaded 9mm handgun. Police took Pearson into custody without incident.

Pearson was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
  • Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Noncompliance with Conditions of Bond

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $44,000 cash-only bail.
