Wilmington Man Arrested on Gun and Drug Charges

WILMINGTON, DE — A 34-year-old man has been arrested by Wilmington Police on charges of illegal firearms possession and controlled substance possession.

The suspect, identified as Donnell Money, has been under investigation since August by members of the Safe Streets Task Force. On August 30, at approximately 11:29 a.m., officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 1900 block of West 3rd Street and took Money into custody without incident.

A subsequent execution of a search warrant in the 300 block of North Union Street led to the recovery of a 12-gauge shotgun, three 9mm handguns, .042 grams of heroin, and .1 grams of crack cocaine.

Money has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – Four Counts
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance – Two Counts

Money was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $20,110 cash-only bail.
