Weapons, Drugs Seized After Safe Streets Task Force Investigation

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a juvenile and an adult on gun and drug charges.

Authorities state that on July 19 at approximately 6:45 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 900 block of North Lombard Street when they made contact with a 17-year-old male juvenile and 21-year-old Keyon Jackson.  Following an investigation, police recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun, a loaded 9mm handgun, and 7.5 grams of marijuana.  Both subjects were taken into custody without incident.

The 17-year-old male was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Possession of a Firearm while also in Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Marijuana

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $6,100 secured bail.

Jackson was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,000 cash-only bail.
