DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Motorists in Upper Darby and Haverford townships, Delaware County, should brace themselves for potential traffic disruptions as Aqua Pennsylvania embarks on water main construction on two state highways.
The first phase of the construction begins Monday, April 1, and continues through Friday, April 5, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. During this period, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) between Alexander Avenue and Burmont Road.
The second phase is set to start on Monday, April 8, and will run until Wednesday, July 31. This phase involves a weekday lane closure with flagging in both directions on U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) between Alexander Avenue and Drexel Avenue, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Motorists are advised to anticipate these changes and plan their routes accordingly. Delays are expected, and drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas.
Aqua Pennsylvania will carry out this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. Patience and caution are encouraged as road users navigate these areas during the construction period.
