WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted New Castle man on gun charges.
On October 14 at approximately 5:05 p.m. members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 1300 block of East 28th Street when they observed 22-year-old Tonnaire Mcnair-Matthews of New Castle acting suspiciously. Police made contact with Mcnair-Matthews and following a brief investigation, recovered a loaded 9mm handgun. Police took Mcnair-Matthews into custody without incident and he was found to have numerous warrants for his arrest.
Mcnair-Matthews was charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrants:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $10,000 cash-only bail.
