Wanted Fugitive Arrested in Wilmington, Illegal Handgun Recovered

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun charges.

Authorities state that on November 23 at approximately 10:02 p.m. members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a vehicle stop in the 300 block of West 30th Street.  Police made contact with 25-year-old Rodney Mills and found he had outstanding capias.  Mills was taken into custody without incident and police recovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun.

Mills was charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding capias:

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $30,000 cash-only bail.
