Viaduct Rehabilitation Scheduled at Night Next Week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Construction is expected to continue at night next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) under a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct in Philadelphia.

On Monday, September 18, through Friday, September 22, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 AM the following morning, periodic lane closures will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between 9th Street and Fox Street for application of a protective coating on the viaduct’s new concrete deck; and

Additionally. on Monday, September 18, through Friday, September 22, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning, periodic lane closures will be in place on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Fox Street and 9th Street for application of a protective coating on the viaduct’s new concrete deck.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
