road work - traffic alert

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction is planned this weekend on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) for the application of an epoxy overlay to preserve the new concrete deck on the recently rehabilitated Wayne Junction Viaduct in Philadelphia.

From 7:00 PM Friday, September 29, to approximately 5:00 AM Sunday, October 1, a single lane closure will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between 9th Street and Fox Street.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
