lane closure

Next week, the southbound Interstate 95 ramp to eastbound Interstate 676 in Philadelphia is due for core borings, as announced by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

From 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM on Sunday, May 21st until Thursday, May 25th, a lane closure will be enforced on the southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-676 (Exit 22).

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for travel through the work area. Note that the schedule is subject to changes due to weather.

PennDOT’s upcoming I-95/GR6 project is set to begin in 2024, and the core borings are a crucial aspect. Section GR6 entails the reconstruction of I-95 from Frankford Avenue to the Vine Street Expressway interchange, with further improvements planned for the interchange.
