Upcoming Fiber Optic Installation on Route 3: Prepare for Improved Connectivity and Travel Restrictions

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that fiber optic installation will occur next week on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Newtown Township, Delaware County, under a local safety improvement project.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

  • Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in both directions at the intersection with Charles Ellis Drive.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
