Two Men and Woman Arrested on Drug Charges

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested two men and a woman on drug charges following an investigation.

Authorities state that on August 30 at approximately 4:55 p.m. members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Read Street.  Police took 43-year-old Donny Hampton, 43-year-old Maurice Bryant, and 52-year-old Leyon Walker into custody without incident.  Police recovered 11.3 grams of cocaine, .168 grams of Fentanyl, 8 Alprazolam pills, .2 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $2,407 in currency.

Hampton was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree
  • Possession of Marijuana

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $38,001 cash-only bail.

Bryant was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $38,000 cash-only bail.

Walker was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree

She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Dolores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $32,000 cash-only bail.
