Traffic Advisory: Temporary Closure of Route 73 (Skippack Pike) for Pipeline Inspection and Repair

WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Texas Eastern Transmission, LP will be performing pipeline inspection and repair on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, beginning Thursday, August 24.

The work schedule and location are:

  • Thursday, August 24, through Thursday, September 14, eastbound Route 73 (Skippack Pike) will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Butler Pike and Sheaff Lane. During the closure, passenger vehicles will be directed to use Butler Pike, Morris Road, Lafayette Avenue, and Route 73 (Skippack Pike). Large trucks will be directed to use U.S. 202, Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike), and Route 73 (Church Road).

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

Texas Eastern Transmission, LP will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
