The Spring Township Human Trafficking Operation: Uncovering Berks County’s Sex Trade

SINKING SPRING, PA – In a major operation to combat the sex trade in the area, the Spring Township Police Department announced that on March 13, 2023, members of the Berks County Human Trafficking Task Force conducted an undercover operation within Berks County.

The task force placed ads on websites commonly used for the sex trade, and when individuals replied and agreed to meet and have sexual relations with minors at a predetermined location in Berks County, they were arrested.

As a result of the operation,

  • 38-year-old Joshua Spencer was arrested for Trafficking in Individuals and other related offenses;
  • 30-year-old Muazong Kha was arrested for Trafficking in Individuals and other related offenses;
  • 37-year-old Corey Moll was arrested for Trafficking in Individuals and other related offenses.
  • 46-year-old Eriec Ruiz was arrested for Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse-Person Less than 16 Years of Age and other related offenses.

Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
