Teen Duo Arrested in Wilmington for Vehicle Theft

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of two juvenile males in connection to a vehicle theft.

The criminal complaint alleges that on May 25, at approximately 7:14 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of East 9th Street in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. Following a brief investigation, officers positively identified a 15-year-old juvenile male and a 16-year-old juvenile male as suspects.

Officers on patrol in the 500 block of East 8th Street, took the 15-year-old juvenile male into custody without incident, and recovered a starter pistol, and the keys to the stolen vehicle. At approximately 3:10 p.m., officers located the 16-year-old juvenile male in the 800 block of N. Pine Street, and took him into custody without incident.

The 15-year-old juvenile male has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Carrying a Concealed Dangerous Instrument

He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $1,500 cash-only bail.

The 16-year-old juvenile male has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle

He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $500 secured bail.
