Teen Arrested In Connection With Wilmington December 2 Shooting

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have made an arrest in connection with a December 2021 shooting incident.

Authorities state that on December 2, 2021, at approximately 4:33 p.m., police responded to the 2600 block of Thatcher Street in reference to a shooting incident that had occurred. Police located a 17-year-old female gunshot victim, who arrived at the hospital in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Nolan identified a 17-year-old male as a suspect, and obtained arrest warrants.

The suspect was located and taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service Task Force in Philadelphia, and was extradited to Delaware on January 31.

The male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Assault (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $55,000 cash-only bail.
