Suspect Steals 9mm Pistol from Parked Vehicle in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department has released a video clip and is soliciting the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted.

Detective Vance with the Central Detective Division says that on May 11, 2023, at approximately 2:40 am, the suspect is seen trying the door handles of parked cars on the 2200 block of West Cumberland Street. The suspect opened the complainant’s passenger-side door, got inside and exited a few minutes later. Taken from the complainant’s vehicle was a black 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 2.0 pistol.

The suspect is a black female, with shoulder-length hair, sporting a red and white dress along with white shoes.
