Suspect Arrested After Loaded Gun Found

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 35-year-old Jose Diaz-Rivera on gun charges.

Authorities stated that on January 6 at approximately 9:00 a.m., police responded to the area of Lancaster Avenue and North Harrison Streets for an aggravated menacing complaint.  Upon arrival, police made contact with Jose Diaz-Rivera.  Through investigative measures, police were able to identify Diaz-Rivera as the suspect in the aggravated menacing.  Police took Diaz-Rivera into custody and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.

Diaz-Rivera was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
  • Aggravated Menacing

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and released after posting $15,000 secured bail.
