HORSHAM, PA — Stroehmann® Bread is partnering with the Philadelphia 76ers for its sixth consecutive season, this time with a unique initiative. The Montgomery County-based company, along with the beloved 76ers mascot Franklin the Dog, has launched the fourth annual King or Queen of the Classroom Contest. This contest aims to recognize the efforts of educators who have made a significant difference in students’ lives over the past year.
The contest encourages students to nominate an educator who has had a profound impact on their academic achievements, whether inside or outside the classroom. In collaboration with Franklin the Dog, Stroehmann aims to energize students and inspire them to express their gratitude to their mentors.
Jennifer Hudak, Stroehmann Associate Brand Manager, expressed her excitement about the contest: “The Philadelphia 76ers take great pride in giving back to their community, aligning with our mission for this contest. We’re excited to join forces for the fourth year to help deserving local mentors score big this season.”
To enter the contest, students from grades K-12 can nominate a person who has been instrumental in their education over the past year. By submitting a short essay, students can explain why their nominee deserves this special recognition for their commitment and how they helped the student reach their educational goals.
The winners of the contest, along with those who nominated them, will be rewarded handsomely. Three winners will receive a 76ers gift bag filled with assorted team merchandise and an autographed 76ers jersey. Additionally, the winners will also receive tickets to a future 76ers game and a donation of $3,000 to be used for books at a school of their choice.
The contest is open through February 22, 2024. Students who wish to nominate a King or Queen of the Classroom can do so by visiting the 76ers website. The official contest rules are also available on the site.
The King or Queen of the Classroom Contest provides a platform for students to appreciate those who have positively influenced their academic journey, reinforcing the importance of education in the Greater Philadelphia area.
