MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Stormwater improvements are planned on several state highways in Montgomery County, as part of a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) project to address storm water management on over 90 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.
The work schedules and locations are:
- Tuesday, September 5, through Friday, September 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Old Forty Foot Road will be closed and detoured between Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) and Rittenhouse Road in Towamencin Township for pipe replacement. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike), Bustard Road, and Rittenhouse Road. Local access will be maintained;
- Tuesday, September 5, through Friday, September 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Upper Ridge Road will be closed and detoured between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Route 63 (Main Street) in Marlborough Township for pipe replacement. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 63 (Main Street) and Route 29 (Gravel Pike). Local access will be maintained;
- Tuesday, September 5, through Friday, September 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Allentown Road between Reinert Road and Route 63 (Forty Foot Road) in Towamencin Township for paving restoration; and
- Tuesday, September 5, through late September, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Susquehanna Road between Westmont Avenue and Easton Road in Abington Township for pipe replacement.
Allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this $14.9 million project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
