Shoplifting Arrest at Wilmington Target: Brooklyn Man Caught Red-Handed with $1,800 Worth of Stolen Merchandise

WILMINGTON, DE — A 22-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, has been arrested for a felony shoplifting that occurred at a Wilmington Target on Monday, said Delaware State Police.

Jeffrey Rose has been charged with Shoplifting Over $1,500 (Felony).

The criminal complaint alleges that on August 7, 2023, at approximately 12:37 p.m., troopers responded to Target at 1050 Brandywine Parkway, Wilmington, for a report of a shoplifting. Upon arriving at the scene, troopers located the suspect, identified as Jeffrey Rose, in the parking lot with a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise. Rose was taken into custody without incident. The investigation revealed that Rose filled a shopping cart with merchandise, passed all points of sale, and exited the business without paying. The merchandise, valued at over $1,800, was returned to the store.

Rose was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $1,000 secured bond.
