Safety Improvements Continue on U.S. 13 in Bucks, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that line striping operations will begin next week on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) under a project to install safety enhancements to improve travel and reduce high-speed crashes across the five-county Philadelphia region.

The work schedules and locations are:

Bucks County

  • Monday, March 20, through Monday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) at the Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) Interchange in Bensalem Township; and
  • Monday, March 20, through Monday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 32 (River Road) between U.S. 202 and Route 32 (Main Street) in Solebury Township; and
  • Monday, March 20, through Monday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 132 (Street Road) between Sterner Mill Road and Old Street Road in Lower Southampton Township.

Delaware County

  • Monday, April 20, through Monday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Earlington Road between U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) and Eagle Road in Haverford Township.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, March 20, through Monday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 29 (Gravel Pike) between Cemetery Lane and Memorial Road in Lower Frederick Township; and
  • Monday, March 20, through Monday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 73 (Church Road) between Route 73 (Cottman Avenue) and Willow Grove Avenue in Cheltenham Township; and
  • Monday, March 20, through Monday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Old Forty Foot Road at the intersection with Rittenhouse Road in Towamencin Township.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Kuharchik Construction, Inc. of Exeter, is the general contractor on this $7,561,020 project, which is financed with 100% federal funds.
