Roadway Improvements Continue This Week on U.S. 1 in Delaware County

Travel Restrictions

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that various construction operations will take place this week on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) under a $14.8 million project to repair and resurface approximately six miles of the highway in Chadds Ford and Concord townships, Delaware County, and Pennsbury Township, Chester County.

The following travel restrictions have been announced:

  • Thursday, January 5, through Saturday, January 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in both directions between Pole Cat Road and Creek Road for line painting, sign installation and utility operations.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur due to these operations. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Allan Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 80% federal and 20% state funds.

Motorists can check current road conditions by visiting the MyChesCo Traffic Center. Stay updated on the latest news and information from MyChesCo with our free newsletter.
