The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that ramp and roadway construction will continue over the next two weeks on U.S. 1 between Old Lincoln Highway and the Neshaminy Exit under projects to reconstruct, widen and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships, Bucks County.
The work schedules and locations are:
- Monday, March 20, through Friday, March 31, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating double lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 between Old Lincoln Highway and the Neshaminy Exit in Bensalem Township for pavement surface grinding;
- Monday, March 20, through Thursday, March 23, from 8:00PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a single lane pattern will be in place on Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard for drainage construction; and
- From 8:00 PM Friday, March 24, to 6:00 AM Monday, March 27, the ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to Rockhill Drive at the Neshaminy Exit will be closed for construction. Motorists will be detoured south on U.S. 1, west on Street Road (Route 132), then north on Old Lincoln Highway to Rockhill Drive. (The ramp to southbound U.S. 1 has been closed for reconstruction since fall 2022).
Drivers are being advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
