Ramp Reopens on Rockhill Drive, Construction Continues

Road work - traffic alert

BENSALEM TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that the ramp from Rockhill Drive to southbound U.S. 1 in Bensalem Township will reopen Monday night after two years of construction. This development is part of a $116 million project aimed at reconstructing and widening a three-mile stretch of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.

Motorists should be aware of upcoming travel restrictions. On Monday, September 9, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane pattern will be in place on Rockhill Drive between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard for line striping and a traffic shift. Additionally, the left turn lane from westbound Rockhill Drive to the ramp to northbound U.S. 1 will close until December 15. Drivers will need to detour south on Old Lincoln Highway and east on Street Road (Route 132) to access U.S. 1 North.

Further restrictions include a single lane pattern on southbound U.S. 1 between Highland Avenue and the PA Turnpike Interchange from 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10, to 5:00 AM the following morning.

This project is part of the U.S. 1/RC2 contract which aims to improve the U.S. 1 interchanges at Neshaminy, Penndel/Business 1, and Rockhill Drive. It also includes replacing bridges over Rockhill Drive, the Neshaminy Creek, and Business U.S. 1/CSX/SEPTA. Drivers should plan for extra travel time due to possible backups and delays.
