Police Seek Help in Identifying Driver Involved in Hit-and-Run Incident on Route 1

BENSALEM TWP, PA — The Bensalem Township Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver in a recent hit-and-run incident that resulted in the injury of a pedestrian.

Investigators allege that on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 9:11 PM, police officers were called to Route 1 in front of the Lincoln Motel for a struck pedestrian. Upon arrival, police discovered that Jason Jacobs, 42 years old from Southampton Road, Philadelphia, was struck by a 2015-2017 white Hyundai Sonata as he was crossing the highway.

The vehicle stopped and the black male driver got out, looked at the victim lying in the roadway then got back in the car and fled the scene northbound on Route 1. The victim was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and is listed in critical condition. The Hyundai should have damage to the hood and windshield.
