Police Searching for Suspect in Hit-And-Run on Allegheny Avenue

PHILADELPHIA, PA —  The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in an effort to locate and identify the dirt bike operator in a fatal hit-and-run.

Authorities state that on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at approximately 10:30 PM, a dirt bike being driven by a male was traveling east on Allegheny Avenue at a high rate of speed, doing wheelies on the highway when it struck the victim, Jesus Gomez Rosario who was riding on a skateboard, traveling west on the 100 block of E Allegheny Avenue. Mr. Rosario was transported to Temple Hospital with severe injuries.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 11:15 am, Jesus Gomez Rosario 17 years of age was pronounced dead at Temple Hospital.

The rider of the dirt bike is described as a male, light complexion, wearing a black helmet, red bandana or scarf around his neck, white t-shirt, black pants and white sneakers. He left the scene with the dirt bike east on Allegheny Avenue. He appears to have minor injuries. The dirt bike has green wheels and green body that was damaged on the left side.
