Police Searching for Suspect in Forgery and Use of Fraudulent Identification Case

LANCASTER, PA — The East Hempfield Township Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a Forgery and Use of Fraudulent Identification case.

Authorities stated that on November 30, 2022, at 12:10 PM, the pictured suspect attempted to cash a forged check at the Fulton Bank located on Columbia Avenue in Lancaster using a fraudulent New Jersey identification card. The identification displayed the name Steven Jay Harris and had an altered address and photograph. The suspect left the identification and fled the bank before police arrived. The bank reported that the same suspect entered a Fulton Bank in Bloomsburg, Columbia County on November 29, 2022, and attempted to cash a check.
