Police Arrest Two Women on Gun Charges, Recover Stolen Vehicle

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested two women on gun charges and recovered a stolen vehicle.

Authorities state that on July 20 at approximately 1:32 a.m. an officer on proactive patrol in the area of 4th and Church Streets observed an occupied stolen vehicle, which stopped in the 200 block of South Heald Street.  Police made contact with two occupants, 33-year-old Shalyn Carter of Elsmere, 28-year-old Kimberly Burroughs, and the operator of the vehicle, 35-year-old Sharif Lowman.  All three subjects were taken into custody without incident and following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded .25 caliber handgun and a loaded 9mm handgun.

Carter was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.

She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Dolores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $5,000 cash-only bail.

Burroughs was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.

She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Dolores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $5,000 cash-only bail.

Lowman was charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,500.

She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,000 cash-only bail.
