Police Arrest Suspect Engaged in Alleged Drug Activity, Seize Heroin and Marijuana

WILMINGTON, DE — A local man has been arrested by Wilmington Police on drug charges.

Akeem Henry, age 20, has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, Resisting Arrest, and releated criminal offenses.

The criminal complaint alleges that on August 18, at 1:10 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 100 block of North VanBuren Street, when they observed 20-year-old Akeem Henry engaged in drug-related activity. Officers made contact with Henry who attempted to flee on foot, but was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered 1.20 grams of heroin, and 2.7 grams of marijuana.

Henry was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $20,000 secured bail.
