WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.

Authorities state that on July 8 at approximately 6:57 p.m. members of the city’s Street Crimes Unit were in the 1000 block of Kirkwood Street, Wilmington when they observed 18-year-old Jahlier Curtis, who was wanted.  Curtis was taken into custody without incident and police recovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun.

Curtis was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Breach of Conditions

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $32,000 cash-only.
