Police Arrest 15-Year-Old With Loaded Gun in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of a 15-year-old male on gun charges.

The criminal complaint alleges that on May 13 at approximately 7 p.m., police officers were on patrol in the area of 3rd and Clayton Streets when they observed a juvenile male acting suspiciously. Officers made contact with the subject, who was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. He was taken into custody without incident and was also found to be wanted on an unrelated matter.

The 15-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Two Counts)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $90,000 cash-only bail.
