Philadelphia Woman Charged in Connection with Fatal Hit-and-Run

NEW CASTLE, DE — A Philadelphia woman has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred last year, according to detectives with the New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit.

The accused, 21-year-old Julisa Prak, turned herself in at the New Castle County Police headquarters on January 9, 2024. She was subsequently arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released after posting $5,000 secured bail.

Detectives initiated an investigation into the incident, which took place on September 26, 2023, on Wilton Boulevard near the intersection of Edinburgh Drive in New Castle, Delaware. A pedestrian was struck and killed in the collision.

Following the investigation, Prak was charged with one felony count of leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death. This charge is an allegation, and Prak, like all individuals accused of a crime, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
