Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Assistance in SEPTA Bus Shooting Investigation

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in an ongoing homicide investigation following a shooting incident on a SEPTA bus.

The incident occurred on March 5, 2024, at around 6:38 pm in the area of 1300 Snyder Avenue. According to authorities, a dispute broke out between two male passengers on the bus. The altercation escalated when one of the individuals reportedly drew a handgun and fired several shots at the other passenger. Tragically, the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries.

The alleged offender immediately fled the scene, disembarking from the bus and heading into the Snyder Avenue and Broad Street SEPTA station. He was last seen boarding a southbound subway train. Authorities noted that the suspect has been spotted on SEPTA property on several occasions aside from this incident.

The suspect is described as a black male with twisted braids in his hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black puffy hooded jacket with a red lining in the hood, a black ski mask with a Nike logo on the left side, light grey pants, and black shoes. Notably, the suspect is reported to have a dark mark, possibly a tattoo, under his left eye.

The police are urging anyone who spots the suspect not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.
