Philadelphia Police Seek Information on Necklace Theft Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery that occurred in February.

Investigators say that on February 24th, 2023, at approximately 10:08 am, an 18-year-old female was entering the Broad Street Line when she was attacked from behind by an unknown black male who grabbed her gold charm with diamonds off of her necklace. The suspect then fled up the stairwell to 2200 N Broad St. Leaving the victim shaken and seeking justice. 

The suspect is described as a Black male with a beard, sporting a hooded sweatshirt with the word “USA” emblazoned across the front, dark pants, gray sneakers and a blue knit hat.

The police are requesting anyone who has seen the suspect in the released video clips and still photos or has any details to contact Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093 or 3094 and ask for Det. Addison.
