Philadelphia Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Robbery Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted robbery that occurred on September 21, 2023.

The incident took place at approximately 8:15 p.m. on the 2000 block of North 16th Street. The victim, a 36-year-old male, was approached by an unknown individual who attempted to rob him. A struggle ensued during which a firearm was discharged once. The suspect fled the scene without taking anything. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the shot being fired.

The suspect is described as a Black male with braided hair, wearing black clothing over a white t-shirt. The Philadelphia Police Department has released video clips and a still photo of the suspect to aid in his identification.

Authorities have urged the public to not approach the suspect if they see him and to contact 911 immediately. Information about this crime or the suspect can be confidentially reported via telephone by dialing 215.686.TIPS (8477) or texting a tip to the same number.
