Philadelphia Police Release Video of Suspected Sexual Assaulter

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a sexual assault suspect.

The man, who has been dubbed the “5th Street Rapist,” is being investigated for three separate alleged assaults that occurred in the Fairhill, Olney, and Nicetown sections of Philadelphia. A released video compilation, taken from two of the assaults, shows the suspect walking down a street and then assaulting a woman. The suspect is believed to frequent the Olney section, specifically the 5th Street corridor.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 19 to 21 years of age, dark complexion, approximately 5’9 in height, thin build, clean-shaven, and wearing a two-tone dark green and black hooded puffy coat, dark green hooded sweatshirt underneath with black Adidas track style pants with white stripe and logo as well as gray New Balance sneakers.
