Philadelphia Police Department Seeks Help Identifying Suspects in Carjacking Incident on Race St.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department has released a video clip and is seeking the community’s help in identifying the individuals seen within it.

Detective Callahan with the Central Detective Division says that on May 7, 2023, at approximately 3:54 pm, the complainant parked his car at 1016 Race St, got out and began to walk away. The suspects followed the complainant, snatched his keys from his hand and ran back to his car. Suspect #2 got into the complainant’s car and attempted to take it. The complainant was able to pull the suspect from the car and after a brief struggle was able to get his keys back. The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is a thin, black male teenager wearing a knit hat with a skull and crossbones, a dark jacket with blue Adidas sweatpants, white sneakers and a backpack. The second suspect also appears to be a black male teenager with a slim build, dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt along with black sneakers and pants.
