Philadelphia Police Department Investigates Hit-and-Run Incident, Leaving Pedestrian Seriously Injured

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department has launched an investigation into a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of 5th Street and Berks Street. This unfortunate incident took place on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at 7:45 A.M. and resulted in critical injuries.

Investigators allege that a white pickup truck was traveling east on Berks Street and attempted to make a left turn on 5th Street when the vehicle made contact with the victim, a 30-year-old female, who was crossing the intersection on Berks Street with her dog. After striking the victim the suspect fled and was last seen traveling north on 5th Street approaching Cambria Street. Medic transported the victim to Jefferson University Hospital, where she was placed in critical condition.

The reported vehicle description indicates a white Ford F-150, exhibiting driver’s side rear taillight damage, with landscaping debris present in the rear of the vehicle.
