PHILADELPHIA, PA — Get ready to lace up your running shoes, Philadelphia! The annual Philadelphia Marathon Weekend is back, bringing athletes from around the globe to this beautiful city. From Friday, November 17 through Sunday, November 19, you can join in on a weekend filled with thrilling races, health and fitness expos, and an exhilarating post-race festival.

A Weekend of Races and Activities

Kicking off the weekend, the Health and Fitness Expo will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center – Hall F on both Friday and Saturday. It’s a must-visit for all fitness enthusiasts, offering a variety of activities and exhibitors showcasing the latest in athletic gear and health products.

Saturday morning starts with the Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon and the Rothman Orthopaedics 8K run, both commencing at the iconic Benjamin Franklin Parkway. These events offer a fantastic opportunity for runners of all levels to challenge themselves and soak in the sights of Philly.

For our youngest athletes, the Nemours Children’s Run takes place on Saturday noon. This non-competitive event features short distances for children aged five to twelve, making it a perfect family activity.

The pinnacle of the weekend is the AACR Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday, where seasoned athletes push their limits in a thrilling 26.2-mile race around the city.

Explore Philadelphia’s Rich History

While participating or cheering on the athletes, don’t forget to immerse yourself in Philadelphia’s rich history. The City has created a story map available on its website for you to explore historical and cultural landmarks along the race courses.

Spectator Viewing Areas and Athlete Reunion

Spectators are invited to cheer on athletes from any point along the course, ensuring the safety of all participants. Two recommended viewing areas near the finish line – the north and south viewing areas – offer the best spots to watch athletes cross the finish line. Athletes can reunite with their loved ones at the Athlete Reunion area located in Eakins Oval.
