PennDOT Announces Road Resurfacing Project in Montgomery County for Improved Travel Experience

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a significant road resurfacing project aimed at enhancing safety and comfort for drivers in Montgomery County. Scheduled from November 17 to November 22, this initiative will involve milling and paving on several state highways, ensuring a smoother ride for all.

Key details of the construction schedule include:

  • Gulph Road at Route 23 (West Valley Forge Road): Lane closures in both directions from Sunday, November 17, through Friday, November 22, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.
  • Joshua Road and Germantown Pike Intersection: Nighttime lane closures from Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next morning.
  • Joshua Road and Ridge Pike Intersection: Similar nighttime lane closures will take place during the same period, ensuring thorough resurfacing efforts.
  • Flint Hill Road/Jefferson Street: Daytime lane closures will occur from Tuesday, November 19, to Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Hector Street between Apple Street and North Lane: Nighttime lane closures will be implemented from Wednesday, November 20, through Friday, November 22, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time as backups and delays are expected through the work zones. Please note that all activities are contingent upon weather conditions.

This resurfacing project will see PennDOT contractors repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt, sealing roadways, and ensuring a safer, smoother driving experience for all motorists.
