MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for a series of resurfacing projects in Montgomery County. These efforts are set to enhance road conditions and improve safety for motorists.
Starting Sunday, August 4, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, and continuing from Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, lane closures will be in effect on Valley Green Road. The affected section stretches between Route 73 (Church Road) and Camp Hill Road in Springfield and Whitemarsh townships. This will allow for milling and paving activities.
Additionally, from Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, lane closures will occur on Elm Street/Hector Street between Fayette Street and Cedar Grove Road/Barren Hill Road in Conshohocken Borough and Whitemarsh Township. These closures will be in place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for paving operations.
Similar work will take place on Graterford Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Perkiomen Creek Road in Skippack and Perkiomen townships. Lane closures are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, from Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9.
Salford Station Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Old Skippack Pike in Lower Frederick and Upper Salford townships will also see lane closures. These will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, allowing for necessary milling and paving.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time due to expected backups and delays. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these projects, PennDOT’s contractors will repair, mill, and repave state highways. The new asphalt pavement will seal the roadways, providing a smoother and safer driving experience.
