PECO Utility Improvement to Close Old York Road Beginning March 27 in Abington Township

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that PECO utility construction will close a section of Route 611 (Old York Road) in Abington Township, Montgomery County.

The work schedule and location are:

  • Monday, March 27, through Friday, March 31, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, Route 611 (Old York Road) will be closed between Moreland Road and Old Welsh Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Old Welsh Road, Edge Hill Road and Moreland Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
