PECO Energy’s Utility Construction to Cause Delays Across Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties

Traffic Alert

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Commuters across Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties in southeastern Pennsylvania should brace themselves for traffic backups and delays due to PECO Energy’s extensive utility construction on several state highways.

In Bucks County, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on County Line Road between Lexington Avenue and Walnut Street, and Maple Avenue and Trewigtown Road in New Britain Township. This closure will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday, March 11, through Wednesday, June 26.

In Delaware County, motorists should expect a weekday lane closure with flagging on southbound U.S. 202 between Smithbridge Road and Ridge Road in Concord Township. This will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Monday, March 11, and Tuesday, March 12.

In Montgomery County, a series of weekday lane closures are planned on various roads and intersections from Friday, March 8, through Tuesday, June 11, at different times. These include Evansburg Road, Airy Street, Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike), Broad Street, northbound Route 611 (York Road), and Route 463 (Cowpath Road) in various townships and boroughs.

With these numerous construction activities slated over the coming months, motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas as delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will execute these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.  Commuters are being urged to exercise patience and caution when traveling through these zones.
