MIDDLETOWN, PA — Drivers navigating through Bucks County next week should prepare for potential delays on Old Lincoln Highway (Business U.S. 1) in Middletown Township. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for nighttime drainage pipe installation as part of a comprehensive $116 million project aimed at reconstructing, widening, and enhancing a three-mile stretch of U.S. 1.
From Monday, April 29, to Friday, May 3, road users will face periodic lane closures managed by flaggers, along with intermittent stoppages lasting up to 15 minutes. These disruptions are scheduled to occur between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM the following morning, affecting both directions of Old Lincoln Highway between Harris Avenue and the U.S. 1 overpass.
Motorists are advised to allocate additional time for their journeys through the area to accommodate the expected traffic buildups and delays. It’s important to note that all planned operations are contingent on suitable weather conditions and may be subject to alterations.
Travelers are encouraged to exercise caution and patience during these necessary construction activities. Drivers can check current road conditions by visiting the MyChesCo Traffic Center.
