WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that resurfacing and bridge repair operations will take place next week on Interstate 476 from West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County, to I-95 in Ridley Township, Delaware County.
From Monday, August 12, to Friday, August 16, lane closures will be in effect each night from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM on sections of southbound I-476 between the U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and I-95 interchanges for milling and paving. Simultaneously, northbound I-476 between the I-95 and U.S. 1 interchanges will experience lane closures for paving.
Additionally, from Monday, August 12, to Friday, August 16, lane closures will occur each night from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM on the on-and off-ramps at the U.S. 1 (Lima/Springfield) Interchange (Exit 5) for paving and ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) installation.
In daytime hours, from Monday, August 12, to Friday, August 16, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Baltimore Pike between Turner Road and Paper Mill Road in Nether Providence and Springfield townships for overhead bridge repair.
Further, on Wednesday, August 21, and Thursday, August 22, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane closures will be implemented on northbound and southbound I-476 from just south of the Route 3 (West Chester Pike) Interchange to the Media/Swarthmore Interchange for ITS installation.
Motorists should anticipate significant backups and delays and are advised to allow extra travel time. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
