PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is set to conduct nighttime paving and repair operations on the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) in Philadelphia. The scheduled maintenance aims to improve road conditions and ensure safer travel.

Beginning Monday, October 28, and extending through Friday, November 1, the ramp from westbound I-76 to Girard Avenue will be closed between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM. Drivers will need to continue on westbound I-76, exit at Montgomery Drive, and use the eastbound ramp to reach Girard Avenue.

Additionally, from October 28 to October 31, lane closures will be implemented on both eastbound and westbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 and 30th Street Station interchanges. These closures will facilitate paving, concrete repair, and line painting activities.

On October 31 and November 1, the ramp from Spring Garden Street to westbound I-76 will also be closed for concrete repair. A detour route will be in place to guide motorists during this period.

Travelers are encouraged to allow for additional travel time due to anticipated delays and traffic backups. All operations are weather dependent. For the latest updates and information, visiting the MyChesCo Traffic Center is recommended.
