The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that there will be nighttime traffic restrictions on westbound Route 30 at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. Traffic restrictions also will be in place on Centerville Road.

Weather permitting, the right lane of westbound Route 30 will be closed at the interchange between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM the nights of Monday, March 27 through Thursday, March 30, so the contractor can place pipe along the highway.

Traffic restrictions also will be in place on Centerville Road from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the night of Wednesday, March 29. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers providing traffic control from Hempland Road to the bridge over Route 30 so lines can be eradicated and repainted to shift traffic to the west side of the road. This will allow work to begin on the east side of the road.

Then, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the night of Thursday March 30, the contractor will place barrier along Centerville Road from Hempland Road to the bridge over Route 30 and will continue placing it along the eastbound on-ramp to Route 30. This work will require a lane closures with flagging on Centerville Road as well as a right lane closure on eastbound Route 30, which will occur from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction. The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
