New Jersey Man Charged With Forgery and Theft in Lancaster County

EAST EARL, PA — The East Earl Township Police Department announced they have charged Isaiah K. Hargrove of Willingboro, New Jersey with Forgery, Theft by Deception, Tampering with Records or Identification, Access Device Fraud, Bad Checks, Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition.

The criminal complaint alleges that on December 2, 2022, Hargrove deposited a forged check for $18,100.04 into his personal bank account. The check was issued by a local business to pay an invoice from another business. It is alleged that Hargrove altered the payee line to list himself as the payee, which allowed him to receive $18,100.04 by deception.

Hargrove surrendered on April 13, 2023. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Heisse on April 13. Judge Heisse set Hargrove’s bail at $20,000 unsecured. Hargrove was released to await further court proceedings.
