Maryland Man Arrested in Wilmington on Gun Charges

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a Maryland man on gun charges.

Authorities state that on September 8 at approximately 8:03 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 200 block of North Union Street when they attempted to conduct a vehicle stop.  The vehicle fled but was quickly located in the area of South Broom and Maple Streets.  The operator, 29-year-old Quintin Tanismore, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody.  Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.

Tanismore was charged with the following charges in addition to numerous traffic violations:

  • Possession of an Untraceable Firearm
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $12,200 secured bail.
